Hi wheelywendy,

I'm writing to you from nomad. We exhibited at Beyond Boundaries over the weekend and someone kindly told me about this post. It may not be the most impartial reply you'll get, but I thought it important for someone to get back to you. This is not an advert, I am genuinely trying to get you the info you're looking for.

We haven't been around very long, but we know what we're doing. 3 years research and development (prototyping, testing, talking to users, physios, OTs, etc.), along with 13 years user experience have created a superb chair (beautiful, manoeuvrable, lifetime warranty on frame, etc.). Our core values centre around personal, individual customer service, meaning that we really look after our customers.

This is all very well, coming from me...I think perhaps you would rather hear from people that have had dealings with us...

Andy S, from East Sussex, has recently bought a chair from us. He said on his latest email to us: "thank you for making me feel so welcome. It has so far been a real pleasure doing business with you.

Shirley D, South Wales said: "It warms my heart to see there are still companies out there doing things properly. Thank you for making my day better."

These are genuine quotes from real customers...Clearly, I can't pass on their full personal details without their saying so, but they are testimonies typical of how we work. We started nomad to make things better for wheelchair users - in terms of products, services and attitudes. I'm happy to take any questions or feedback, either through Apparelyzed, or directly to info@nomadwheelchairs.com

Thanks wheelywendy and everyone else...

Jon, nomad.

Hi Jon,

A small point, but the pics on your web site appear to show the tyres are on backwards, or left and right wheels were reversed when the photos were taken. I could be wrong. These old eyes often deceive me; but if I'm right, it might damage your street cred a little.

Carpe Diem

I had a quick look at their chairs at Beyond Boundaries Live on Saturday. They are great looking chairs, but I think start at £2,500.
I'm not in the market for a new chair right now, but I'll consider these guys in a few years when I go for an upgrade.

Hi Zammo,

Glad you like the chairs!

The price is £2,500 in total. his is with everything included, so there are no nasty surprises. We wanted to be open, honest and transparent when it came to our pricing.

Give us a call when you are looking for a new chir, we'd love to come out and demo to you.

Thanks,

Jon, nomad

Hi Jon,

I think my eyesight must be going, because I've looked high and low on your website, but I can't see what the tubing is made from?

Hi Greybeard,

You are quite right, and that's a very good spot...The photograpers were trying to keep the tyre branding in an optimum position and felt that the tyre tread was a lower priority (not everyone is as observant as yourself!).

Good to know that people are really looking at the photos, though - That's why they're there.

All feedback always gratefully received, so thanks Greybeard.

Hi Simon,

The mrk1 is made from Aluminium - T6 6082 to be exact. This is a very light, strong alloy, perfect for wheelchairs.

We have deliberately kept the website as clean and uncomplicated as possible, making the user's experience better. We then encourage email/telephone contact for further information, which allows us to build up close relationships with people (because we want to be more than just another wheelchair seller).

Hope this helps,

Jon

To be honest, the material the wheelchair is made of is one of the first things people look for. By not putting the information on your site, you're missing out a vital piece of information, one which could cause visitors to just look elsewhere.

If you're confident in you products material, why not shout about it?

Personally, I'd be less inclined to contact you because of the lack of information on your website.

Simon.

I had the same worry as Zammo,
only thing is you say £2,500 in total but you order form states basic price http://www.nomadwhee...d_orderform.pdf
I know you have very little as extra cost options which makes a change from other manufacturers but this will still put alot of people off with out even contacting you.

Just looking at web site put me off until I read this post.

This is all very valuable feedback, so thank you very much.

Our transparent pricing policy is something we are very proud of. If the policy doesn't come accross clearly or accurately online, then we will, of course look into this.

Thanks again.
