Let's all give the Canucks a day off.
They try so hard.

My father flew for the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII.
Said they were the nicest people he'd ever met.

At which point I began to question his mental competence and had him committed. el oh el.

Actually nice weather today, unlike the crappy rainy crap we've had the last few days.

And ya, WWII messed a lot of people up :mfrlol:

You Know You're Canadian When:

You design your Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled in with snow.

The local paper covers national and international headlines on two pages, but requires six pages for hockey.

The municipality buys a Zamboni before a bus.

You eat chocolate bars, not candy bars, and drink pop, not soda.

You use a red pen on your non-Canadian textbooks and fill in the missing u's from labor, honor, and color.

You know how to say free, prize and no sugar added in French thanks to your extensive education in bilingual cereal packaging.

You know what a toque is.

You've plugged a car in overnight.

You've defended your property from trespassers with a lacrosse stick because you don't own a gun.

 Those ones right there are the ones I think apply to me the best, haha. We should add knowing what poutine is to that list. Most people outside of Canada have no idea what the hell poutine is (and boy, are they missing out!).

Over here (where we do things properly - of course) chips are flavoured with salt and vinegar. Not some gloop of gravy and cheese. Urgh!

Mmmm, Poutine!
One half pound of haggis masticated, then digested. Regurgitated, remasticated then photographed and put on display on a website for hobbled up gimps.

Be proud people, we've created art here today.

Take it from a fat American, poutine should be outlawed...its addictive and will kill you...all without a needle or glass pipe

Don't knock it till you try it! :licklips: It needs to be made with good ingredients--good brown gravy, freshly fried fries/chips, and the good cheese curds. Otherwise it's not the same. It may not look pretty but it's beyond delicious. I've never met anyone who doesn't like poutine!

Don't need to thanks. I remember what gravy sodden chips taste like from school dinner days.

Chips are best slightly crisp on the outside from double frying, and nicely soft in the centre.

But who am I to introduce you to the finer things in life? It's obviously a macho nationalistic thing, so I know I'm wasting my time. :drooldrip:

Oh, I would say I'm already quite well acquainted with the finer things in life, crisp chips included!
