I've got this problem with my feet and footplate. Throughout the day, I will hit bumps while going through doorways. My feet then move on my footplate and I have to constantly reposition them. I am in a rigid frame Quicke GT. I have adjusted the length and the angle of the footplate to the best positions possible. My next step is to put this 3M grip tape on the foot plate to reduce the amount of movement.

I do not want to strap them because I like to get in and out of my chair easily. Anyone with any suggestions out there to fix this??

Sounds to me like you've got one hell of a BIG TIME problem on yer hands there big fella.
Let's see now. Hum.
What to do. What to do.
Spose you could try not getting out of bed for a while. Reckon that would fix it. Course you wouldn't get much done, but....
You could cut yer feet off. That would lighten you up a bit fer transfers too. But nah. Might be cost prohibitive.
Maybe if you waited till later in the day to start your drinking, you'll bang into fewer doorways, ergo less having to reposition those pesky feet.

I don't know pal. It's a tough one. Let's ask the experts, see what they have to say. Personally. I've never encountered a problem of this magnitude before.

Pardon me for seeming the wise-ass, but couldn't you, like, hmmm, put your hand under your leg and, like, kind of, like, reposition your foot? As a quad, I like, discovered this closely guarded secret Gimp Technique, like, hmmm, 44 years ago. It's so cool...

Alright, were getting this guy started on the "wrong foot". Really, that is part of the problem of being paralyzed. We have no muscle control so therefore, our feet and legs bump around whenever they want to. You do have to reposition your legs all the time - at least I do. I reposition alot anyway to help relieve any pressure. I have now become a wiggle worm! Try to just learn how to reposition your feet quickly. Before long, it will be a habit and you won't even hardly think about it.

As for my personality, I fit right in with you sarcastic asses. So, no feelings hurt right here. I just didn't know if anyone found a little trick to this......and E-Dog.. thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to take every consideration you make seriously.

I did the grip tape. It works for awhile, but then it wears off. Look for grippier shoe soles too.

But mostly, just look down now and then. Make sure those damn puppy's are where you left 'em.

I had the same problem too. Where I live there is alot of rocky/uneven terrain. And throughout the day my feet would slide off the foot-plate. So, I bought some skateboard shoes and thankfully that did the trick! Hell, I'd try the grip tape deal and if that didn't work..you could try grip tape plus skateboard shoes B) hope my 2 cents helped! (atleast a little)

I have a friend who is a quad that solved the problem by Velcro. He uses velcro on the bottoms of his shoes and the foot pad. Works for him, just don't get to carried away with the velcro.
I have thought about doing the same a few times myself, but I'm not so sure the pros will out weigh the cons for me to use the velcro. It's just an inconvenience for me to stop and reposition the feet and not a major issue. However, I have been known to do it on the move and run into things during the process... B)

Yo, if ya never feel down, ya never have to look down.
And I NEVER feel down.
That's because I took the "cubes" advice. I went to the pet store 'n got me 2 poodle puppies (never like them dogs anyway) an' glued 'em to my foot plates. Sewed some velcro to the bottom of my feet (hate wearing shoes) and bang zoom! No more foot slippage.

After a while the dogs finally shut the hell up so no more weird looks at the liquor store and they're startin' to feel nice n' squeeshy now that they're decomposing.

Just a suggestion from the apparelyzed don't pay attention to me department,

As a former skateboader, I agree with you most of all. That's what gave me the grip tape idea but i'll have to try the shoes as well. I never thought of that one. Thanks

I have the exact same chair and the exact same problem. And I'm also a T4. I've yet to find the secret to this. If you do please let me know!
