Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone around this joint is doing well. I've been a bit absent for a bit mostly due to work and such. Unfortunately, I've been feeling a bit like a train wreck and I'm trying to get my pain management dialed in a bit. I'm currently on low dose Lyrica (50mg twice a day). This helped for a bit but seems to have lost its efficacy. My doc said we could go up on the dose, which I am fine with, but I have a few questions...

  • What are your experiences with increased Lyrica dosages? I've seen some pretty high doses on these boards, but I'm a bit wary of pharmacology (funny coming from a nurse, I suppose) and am getting used to being on meds long term.

  • What are your experiences with cymbalta? I've had a 20 year working relationship with depression, and I've found that since the injury, it's been tougher to keep in check. I've heard cymbalta can assist with both depression and pain related to spinal injury. Any input on your experiences is appreciated.
  • Lastly, and judging by other posts, not sure how much of an answer I'll get to this, but that's okay...I live in a state where dispensing medical marijuana is not legal, but essentially if you have a prescription and you get cought, you're pretty much off the hook. I am considering approaching my doc regarding a prescription to have some legitimacy. I am concerned about legalities, but in all honesty, all that mess listed above doesn't help nearly as much as that made by mother nature. Any comments/feedback/suggestions/other resources regarding this topic is much appreciated. I'm somewhat new to medical marijuana, so any direction is appreciated. I know this is a sensitive subject, so answer as you wish.

Hope all is well. Take care everyone!

I have been dealing with depression all my life. I was on cymbalta before and after injury. We have Had to increase the amounts, and add something for anxiety.

Cymbalta has helped with the neuropathic pain. If I miss a dose, I know it.
