Sometime ago, I asked about UnderGlow on a wheelchair. The reaction was split. Some people liked the idea others hated it. Comments included:

  • "I think its just totally ridiculous! I do anything possible not to have people stare at my chair"
  • "Might be fun or funny on occasion but I wouldn't want it on there all the time"
  • "What a great way to look like a complete tit"
  • "I think it's cool! "
  • I say-"What the hell? It's your chair-you have to use it. Why not spice it up a little?"

Is this idea any better?

The difference is that rather than being built in, these are removable micro-lights which are used to improve visibility and night-time safety for manual wheelchair users. But they can also be used as for underglow if desired. Please cast your vote in the poll.

I don't think I'd use the ones in the video per say, but I would like to have something other than my iTouch's flashlight app for when I need a light. The underglow I'd use as a joke, maybe make some kind of alien/UFO video with it. That or just to annoy someone. Personally, if I have a light on my chair its going to me showing me the way not giving me away. =P

May just be an age thing, I didn’t like the fast & furious.
If it was a car, it should go fast not look fast & you should hear the roar of the engine & not the stereo.
Like I say must be my age. :mfrlol:

hmm I already have a light for my chair, for when I need it! Iits petzl zipka light, and hmm well I have a black dimond torch too, weighs a l;ittle more than yours, but then the LEDs are huge :P hmm.. and I can use it as a head torch, erm..

I dont see the fascination with lighting up the wheelchair! Just a quick q.. are you in a wheelchair? Also , why would I buy *made for my whelchair* light when I can go into a cool outdoor shop and buy something for probably half the price.

What LED's are you using?

I use my phone if I absolutely need to see the ground below me..

That little light seems like just another multi purpose flashlight, not really a "Wheelchair Light", not that I even know what a "Wheelchair Light" would be,.. f*@k, maybe that's it?

:boxing: I do the same thing, use my cell phone as a light if needed. The screen is certainly bright enough at night.

I'm getting a set of these in a few weeks. Hopefully they'll work alright.

Wheelchair lights may not be for everyone- but if you think you might want to see your mobility in whole new light, you need to check-out www.WheelchairFX.com These Lighting Systems were designed for my mobility customers that were hit by automobiles, and we made them music reactive and gave them festive LightingFX (flash, fade, multi-color options for fashon and/or for team colors) so children of all ages would be able to actually enjoy their chairs! I am also looking into fun joystick covers, i-pod docks, chrome wheel covers.....

I might for OCCASION......like when we go to a street fair or a concert.......but NOT for everyday or night. I have a clip on head lantern I would use for seeing where I'm going & I have bicycle lights that flash red LED lights & we've tested that out & found it is visible from over a block away.

*Wheelchairs are made of a special ocular magnetic alloy......they're "eyeball magnets".*
*I USE a wheelchair, that does NOT make ME a wheelchair!*
