Just wanting to know how to care for butt blisters in their beginning before they develop into big ulcers.I do rotate my position as often as possible but of late im seeing blisters develop.I have tried to use vitamin E moisturizer but i dont seem to be winning the battle.I dread these blisters could easily worsen and give me a hard time.

Geek,

Ok. This is not trivial.

When I broke my leg, I got a blister on my heel from the cast. The fracture healed long before the blister did, and this sore was in a place where I could protect it from pressure.

On the butt is the worst possible place.

Others here will help you, but the main point is that you must do whatever is needed, right up to and including complete rest for your butt...

Do NOT let it go.

Best,

Gordon

No it isn't something to take lightly. If it requires that you spend hrs on end off your hind end just letting your posterior have a rest & get some air than that may be what you'll need to do. Spending your evenings laying on your stomach watching TV for a few weeks may just be what saves you from getting any worse if lifts aren't sufficient. Also what kind of cushion do you have? I have had a ROHO quattro & LOVE it! Blisters can turn to bad sores very quickly......keep on it......even if it means getting off of it.

Stay off them till they are healed.

They got there cos of all your sitting. They won't go away unless you stop sitting on them.
Personally, I'd steer clear of applying any ointments or whatever. The skin should be kept clean but anything you apply is likely to complicate things such as softening an already vulnerable skin.

It might be frustrating to lie on your side for a few days but that's the quickest and surest way to safe healing.
