He is starting to have a lot of acheing in his legs. Does that mean anything? He is getting feeling in his legs. Has no control over his bladder but is starting to feel the pressure of when he needs to talk a bowel movement. Which 1 month ago he couldn't even feel that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have come to the right place - the members here are smart, supportive, funny, and will dish out the tough love when needed. The only advice I can offer is to remember to look after yourself while you're caring for him. You are probably already on the roller-coaster of emotions; don't let yourself get too worn out and accept help when you need it. You and your husband will both benefit.
Good luck!

i think he can consider himself lucky that he is getting feeling back. i am t5 and my accident was 9 months ago. no feeling or movement from my nipple level down. and still have no idea when i have to go to the bathroom. make sure he stays positive, he already has many good things happening for him.

What kind of aching is he having? Muscle, Bone, Nerves? Could be good, or bad.. probably good though.
Bladder is a bitch, and just from my own research
The bowel is definitely a good sign, like everyone around here says Knowing is half the battle. I think I was about 4 or 5 months post when I started getting those same signals.. and again, didnt you write elsewhere that he could feel pressure in his ass from the get-go? Its all good,, even if the recovery ceases as of now, he's already made progress.
There's so much info for a newbie, more than I could ever write.. Just remember all is possible, try to avoid learned Non-use when you can, and.... it will get easier!

I had pain at my back (shoulder area) after my injury and I later found out that it was caused by some hardened muscle at lover part of shoulder bone where I did not had sensation. It was really irritating pain and I could not even correctly identify where the pain was, it felt like whole back is exploding. Pain increased after doing some activity like pushing/swimming. Massaging the area helped ease the hardened muscle (i guess it was muscle) and pain is gone. Recently I become more active (playing wheelchair badminton) and not had the pain for some time now. I still get pain all over my back when there is a small boil below my injury level, some times so small, that it wont even be visible. Since I cannot feel where the irritation is, I feel like having itching/pain all over back shoulder, some times it takes minutes to find and scratch right area.
When my bladder is full, I generally feel like my blood pressure rising, and face and ears get warm, but not always gives the right indication, nor I get enough of warning to rush to toilet. So I use sheath catheter attached to leg bag and self catheter 5 times a day. Not ideal, but my bladder does not store more that 400ml and I work full time. I get electrifying feeling on my toe if I try to move, but no sensation, nor toe move.
No two spinal injuries are same, so not necessary any of my experience is relevant to your husbands. But yes I did have similar pain below my injury level.
