Hey Guys,

I don't have Swine Flu... yet but here in the UK, a woman paralysed at the waist down has just died from the effects of Swine Flu after giving birth to her daughter.

What advice is being given to persons with SCI by world governments or WHO?

I previously stocked up on face masks and although UK news say they are useless, they are still handing them out to healthcare staff. Should we be using face masks in public and then take them off when we get to work, school, places where we know for sure there aren't any contagious people?

I'm back at university in September where theres going to be literally 15,000 people from all around the world and am thinking that with underlying conditions already - I only need to catch once to find out if it kills me or not.

Sorry for ending on a dire note but I just don't think health services are appreciative of the risks Swine flu holds for SCI's and are offering no specific advice!!

Comments & Advice welcomed,

Greg

Yo gukski,

Calm the hell down. 90 percent of the swine flu scare is nothing more than a whole lotta large round brown equine lumps.
Relax, smoke a joint. Kick back and shoot the breeze with yer lil' college buddies.
Everything is gonna be just fine.
Promise.

p.s. If ya DO die, can I have some of your stuff?

My thoughts exactly. I think I may have had swine flu (seriously) because I got really sick with similar symptoms a little while back and almost every single person I know, even acquaintances, also got sick within a 2 week period with the same symptoms. We had swine flu in Toronto. Anyway, I am fine, still alive and well. The swine flu is just like any other type of flu, only it is surrounded by hoopla and scare tactics.
