Good evening! Just wanted to say thanks for the uplifting words from the responses I received. I wanted to let everyone know that it has all worked out quite well! They never even contacted him and now we are free to openly express our love for one another!! How exciting it is to finally be able to see down the road a bit as "Qbounce" stated!

Thanks again!

Thanks everyone! And congrats Qbounce, that is terrific -I hope to one day have a similar story! :P As it is, I received notification this morning that he has informed his sister-in-law (with whom he is currently living), and she wants to have a pow-wow w/ me to see how serious I am about dating him. "eeek!" I'm nervous, excited, scared, & happy all rolled into one ... figure it's gotta be love though because knowing me, I'd normally just blow it off and determine that it's not worth the effort. Wish me luck and hope it all goes well!

Thanks again!

Do no under any circumstances allow yourself to be swayed by a Sister in Law, or anybody else.

If the two of you are becoming "significant others", that relation trumps all others.

An exterior person (and that category suddenly includes the closest people in his life) will tend to think that your guy has a life, and that you will be inserted into that life. This is not the case. Love creates foundational changes in the structure of life, NOT just moving around furniture.

Also, there is no such thing as free trial peiod. Love commits or it does not.

Be strong. Be together. Be a team.

The rest is details.

Best,

Gordon

Gordon, wow! You sound just like my guy! Repeatedly he's told me that if his brother and sister-in-law don't like it or respect our relationship that he will just move out that much sooner and we will find a place of our own.

I haven't gotten the "chance" to talk to her yet. She wasn't there when I went to visit today. I think though that they are just trying to look out for him, which I understand completely. But also totally agree w/ what you (as well as what he has) said, our relationship trumps and rather than me moving into his life, together WE will be moving forward in a life of our OWN.

One day at a time...

Zylma,
I'm guessing by the recent inactivity here that things went well, only because USUALLY, people post when it's going to hell. Anyway, I hope it all worked out in the end with his family.

Oops, is it that obvious? :ranting: Sorry, I've just been very busy lately. But yes, Q, things are going well. His family has accepted me, my family & friends have accepted him and I'm happy to report that all are supportive. We are even planning a move in the near future. I will try to be more connected from now on. Hope all is going well with and for everyone else too!
