Just to be sure we are thinking of the same thing. When you say Dune Buggy I am thinking it will be rather large, most of em I've seen have been 2 seaters, although there are some single seated ones that I'm sure you'd use. But they are still much bigger then what I would think would fit on a trail. A Go Cart on the other hand might be what you crazy canucks consider a Dune Buggy? This I can see working if done right.

Hmmm, no, by dune buggy, you and I were thinking the same thing but I think a go kart maybe would be better! Dune buggies are maybe too big. A go kart is closer to the size of a Fourcross bike. I still can't believe I actually found someone selling a used dune buggy (for dirt cheap! And right close to my house!). I wonder if I will have the same luck finding a cheap used go kart. I have not bought the dune buggy, btw. I wouldn't even know where to store the thing until we start working on it.

Yea I think with the right skills and equipment then you could turn one of those go karts into something that would work. I can see high potential in it. Man I wish I had a shop, money and time to work on this sort of stuff. I have idea's for about 10 different contraptions that would be great if i was an engineer with unlimited funds to play with and make stuff or hell just some one with a shop, the tools and time to figure it all out.

Well, funds are definitely an issue. The thing will have to be built as cheaply as possible. And I'm just gonna use a regular old garage at my house or, if my buddy builds the thing with me, maybe there, I dunno. Most of the guys I know rebuild muscle cars and currently have full garages with their latest project. Depends. I do have a friend who lives out in the boonies, is a mechanic, and has his own garage with TONS of room for us to store the go kart/dune buggy there--plus a ton of tools that he'd probably let me borrow. Actually, knowing that guy? He'll want it on the action! Which would be good since he's a mechanic (who also rebuilds the classic muscle cars--he most recently sold a Barracuda he rebuilt for a TON of money). I think asking him if we could work on it there would be my best bet. Finding space is an issue. It's gonna take a while as neither of us has a whole lot of time so I'm thinking that I'll probably work on it over the winter and get it out in springtime next year. Too bad you don't live closer TW, otherwise you could join in the fun and help me build this thing! I'm much more interested in figuring the stuff out as opposed to paying someone to do it. It's way more fun to come up with homemade contraptions!
