Someone already posted about how you vacuum but I was wondering if you "veterans" have any great tips on household tips. Cleaning your home, laundry, childcare, cleaning your car, how you set up your cabinets so you can reach things, chores for others vs. chores for yourself, etc. I think I have listed enough to get your minds thinking! Thank you!!

I think Nike said it best.

Find what works best for you, try different things and you'll find a way. I might post 20 different ways I do something and another does it 20 completely different ways from me.

Learn to think outside the box. I've got this BIG metal clip used for repelling & I can use that to hook the laundry basket (it's a tall laundry basket) to the grab bar on the back of my chair & tow the laundry to the laundry room......thinking outside the box. ;)

And I also agree with Kevin, and with Ches. You just get it done, whatever way works for you. I don't use anything special to clean my house and if I reach some kind of hurdle in trying to do something, I think my way out of it and do what needs to be done. I do pretty much everything independently around my home and only get help to do stuff like change a lightbulb up in the ceiling or mow the lawn (if I had one of those mowers you ride on, I wouldn't need help with that!). Even when I lived with my ex, we still did equal amounts of work around the house. I wash my car, take care of my garden, vacuum, clean up after my animals, dishes, take my garbage out, grocery shop on my own, etc., etc., etc., and just get stuff done. As for cupboards, I leave most stuff on the counter tops and have some low cabinets that stuff is stored underneath the counter in. This makes for clutter on the countertops but at least it's all within reach. It's all trial and error. It'll probably be hard for people to give advice on this sort of stuff because everyone does things so differently.

My top tip is more for the big spring clean but could work more often perhaps once a month.

Have a party making sure you got plenty of nibbles set out for everyone, peanuts etc, these normally get everywhere & I always end up with a few mates staying the night or returning the next day to help clean the place up & many hands make light work.

If you're a quad, and drop a CD, roll up to it, and get your front castor right on the outside edge.

This will tilt the cd upwards, enabling you to put your finger through the hole and pick it up.

This is mainly best done on carpet, but can work on a hard surface, depending on the CD.
