Anyone recommend a good UK-available tyre pump for w/chair use?

I use Schwalbe Marathon tyres (Presta type tubes) so must be good for 100-120 PSI.

Currently using a Ring mains type electric compressor which works as well as a garage forecourt one on Schrader valves, but hopeless on Presta valves/with adapter............leaks like a sieve.

A Google through UK cycle shops revealed that the "track" type is the most efficient but surely these seem to require the use of a foot to steady, right?

Anyone suggest best option?

Are you after a manual, gas cartridge on electric pump?
At home I use a rechargeable mini compressor, good for way above 120psi. Here’s a couple http://www.amazon.co..._sl_sbmkgubm2_b
When I’m out I keep a cartridge pump in the car for emergencies, they use the little CO2 cartridges, http://www.wiggle.co.../7/Pumps_-_CO2/
You can buy Presta adapters on ebay if needed, http://shop.ebay.co....-All-Categories

Hope this helps.

Get a better adaptor - no seriously I have three different adaptors, two work fine and the other (bought as part of a set from halfords) is worse than useless. Go to a decent bike shop and make sure it has a rubber o ring seal in it and you'll be fine.

Ah - Thanks! My old Halfords compressor which plugged into the cigar lighter socket in my car had a rubber sealing ring in the adapter whereas the one that come with the (more powerful) Ring doesn't.

Pumpkinhead - those cartridge type inflators look handy for car use. How much usage can you get from a cartridge........roughly?

Thanks.

Hi Tom,
I have 25" wheels and it usually takes 1 16g cartridge to inflate 1 tyre/tube to around 80-90psi, a bit short of the 120psi I normally go with but its fine for me for the day.

I haven’t tried the 25g cartridges yet, maybe they would inflate up to 120psi.

I am using one of these:

Mountain bike suspension pump,
Hand pump with Schrader valve fitting, Max pressure 400psi
CyclesUK (cyclesuk.com) do one with a presta adapter.
