Thursday night was chicken breast strips & fettuccine Alfredo

Tonight I felt like :poo: & felt kinda :yucky: so I just had some cereal. But THIS time I asked for the RIGHT ONE! (TBI moment asked for the wrong cereal last time).

catch and kill - anything in the house, leftovers, etc.
I had leftover chicken and mushroom risotto and vanilla rice for desert. (We got a rice cooker the other day and were eager to try it out.)
We also found out that our arborio rice was very starchy and had a strange taste because we didn't know how long the open pack had been sitting in the cupboard! I would say it's at least 6 months old.

Since I married an Asian lady, we can't keep rice in the cupboard very long.

Last nights was a nice hot (homemade not from a jar) Chicken Rogan Josh for myself and hubby.

Qbounce you didn't tell me you were part Taff, same as me! Divided loyalties come Six Nations time. My Dad is Welsh, plus we live very close to the border here in Gloucestershire.

GB you are right as well, toad in the hole is just a yorshire pudding batter mix it is one of my hubby's favourites, usually as a treat. He has got a 10k race next week so I''l probably make him one after that, like I did after he did his tough guy challenge (the world's hardest assault course). If anyone wants the recipe I can post it later.

Jules,
I seriously didn't realize how much of a language barrier there would be based on the location of this 'pond' that seperates us.

What . . . is . . . a . . . TAFF??

I even tried Googling it, but got nothing. I mean, I'll take accountability for being one. I just want to know what it is. :censored:

Sorry Qbounce a Taff is a nickname for someone from Wales much in the same way someone from Liverpool is a scouser, Newcastle a Geordie etc. My Dad is a very proud welshman! which comes to to fore when the Six nations is on in fact when Wales won the Grand slam a couple of years ago my poor Mum had to literally peel his Welsh shirt off him.

Just starting to realize, after reading all the stuff you guys eat,,, that I'm eating an awful lot of fried foods on a weekly basis. In the past week the only meals i've eaten that weren't fried were the turkey breast with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, snow peas,,,,, then leftovers from the above a few times.

The rest consisted of eggs, bacon, hamburger, ham, pancakes, chicken,,, at various times of day or night,,, oh , and let's not forget the french fries. Can this be a reason for my weight problem,,,, Ya think???

I have to start reading this thread earlier in the day,,, to get a few different ideas,,,,, but frying is just so easy.

Can't be.

At a sylph-like 300 (ish) pounds I'm probably an ounce or two overweight too but I don't have fried as often as you. Must be something else.

There's always the AMOUNT of intake, too. But I didn't need to add that, did I?--hehe

Yah, when the wife came home I looked as far in the bag as I could, but the fries didn't materialize.
