I Need Everyday Wheelchair Suggestions choosing a wheelchair Rate Topic: -----

are there anyone has expereinces with these wheelchair.. nowadays i need to b uy new wheelchair but couldnt decide which one i must buy.. the brand and the models that i can buy one are:

1- otto bock avangarde ti 8.9 (costs 2200 euros in my country/turkey) 9 kilos weight
2- otto bock motus (costs 1200 euros) 13 kilos weight
3- off carr halley (costs 2230 euros) 13 kilos weight

I am not familiar with the chairs you have stated, is it possible that you could borrow a demo from the supplier and see which one you prefer? It may be worth a try, remember they need your business!

thanx for your answer but unfortunately i live in turkey and in a small holiday city named kusadasi also so not easy to find a good wheelchair dealer to try demo chairs.. :head_brick_wall-1:

I believe these are all "fold able" chairs!?
I would go with otto bock avangarde ti definitely!

The first chair I bought was a second hand Otto Bock Start M2 folding chair. I still have it as a back-up.

The build quality is superb and there is ample adjustment for axle height, COG, seat length etc.

Admittedly it's not as light as my Tilite rigid, but having used both, if you are heavy like me, the weight of the chair becomes somewhat irrelevant.

I reckon the Otto Bock is probably the better buy for all round flexibility of use. For a start, bought new, it is a great deal less expensive and as someone else said, their after-sales and availability of parts is great, especially in Europe.
