Ok brief message!
I have used these for 4 years now. They are THE VERY BEST I have come across in 2w years!
Any questions just ask .... they don't "scuff" or get bits chipped out. The grip s exceptional!!

These would be terrible handrims for someone like myself. Because I'm a low para and push my chair pretty quick. The only way to slow down (especially when racing down a hill) is to grip the handrims tightly. A neoprene coated handrim would burn the gloves off my hands and then rip my skin off with them! The friction is just too much.
What I need is a handrim that increases my mechanical advantage. A smaller diameter smooth metal handrim could do that but I'd have to adjust the rest of my chair to get my posture right so that I could use them.
I've often wished that I could just pump a couple of handles vertically up and down to move my chair forward - but that adds mechanical bulkiness and weight. Oh well, can't have everything.

Ok verrrrrrrrrrrrry brief reply and please don't take this wrong!!
But..........
Teraplagics can't "grip" a pushrim .. as a rough rule ... so anything to give purchase on a rim is great! These give excellant grip.
Yes the trade off is you "burn" your hands coming down a hill.
Having said that not being able to grip means you "fly" down a hill anyway until you encounter a brick wall!!\!! .. joke!
A tongue in cheek reply this!
Again rule of thumb... paras use shiny metal push rims as they can grip them and Flick through and grip to slow down
Tetras/quads use THE MOST STICKIEST thing they can. so they can move!
\hope that clarifies things?
Life is just to short not to have fun!
