I am going to have yet another surgery, this time on my bladder. My doctor wants to do autoaugmentation. I have done some research on it. I have found that this type of bladder surgery is a lot easier than the alternative of using parts of the intestines. He plans on just removing muscle from my bladder. Has anyone had to have surgery on the bladder? Any help on what I should expect would be great.

Some 15-or-so-years ago I had an augmentation transferring a piece of lower bowel. It's been as successful as one could wish. No complaints (actually, bloody brilliant). But I did take awhile to recover. I hope this idea of using bladder muscle is an improvement. It makes good sense. All the best and I think you can look forward to good things.
