[fatcrx]

im 6 months into my injury and ive lost the use of my legs and fingers. Ive been outta hospital now a couple of months and although i have an electric chair i refuse to use it so im rockin a kushall k4 which to me feels like a good chair. My ot is in the process of getting me a set of spinergys but in the mean time ive spashed out on a set of frogs legs front wheels and suspension. I came across them when i was back up at the hospital for a wheelchair skills day and i thought they looked good. I suffer quite badly from spasms which are triggered mainly by movement and vibrations, this meant if i was wheeling over rough surfaces (what we call roads here in ireland) i would be getting spasms from the vibrations. Since i fitted the frogs legs wheels and suspension ive noticed a huge difference in the vibrations thus reducing spasms on the move which is sweet.highly recommend them.

p.s Im used to spending thousands from pimpin up my car, wierd now i spend money pimpin up my wheelchair, whats next? buying a big sound system for my standing frame?

depends on the quality of the ladies, if their hot i could stretch to some whiskey, if their not itl have to be cheap cider.

Back t the serious side of the topic, although I love the racing frogs!

I so loved the function of Frog Legs forks and wheels that I've imported stock to Australia to sell at a more reasonable price to the Wheelchair retailers here. See Frog Legs Australian supplier

Also they have a big unit designed for Power Chairs called the "Big Rig" which can fit an 8" x 2" wheel. These also have 5/8" diameter spindles and are big but give great ride with lots of travel. Any power chair users out there with Big Rig forks fitted? I have a couple of sets for a project I'm building (yet to test) and they look impressive. I've used the Sorts Frog Legs for about five years now and love them.

The Frog Legs brand cater wheels also last longer than other brands by a mile too.

I bought a pair of their soft compound front caster wheels but they started to 'chunk' out after two weeks or so and the replacements that I was supplied with did the same.The soft compound made for a very comfortable ride but I wheel myself about five miles a day on roads and pavements and needed much better longevity from my casters. I weigh about 14 .5 stone and for the past four months have use red Yak 78A 110mm soft compound scooter wheels which last about six months and are about a quarter of the price. The ride quality is nearly as good although they look skinny in comparison to the Frogs Legs wheels. No traction problems so far either.

Thanks for the link. I see they do 100, 110 and 125mm Yaks. Useful prices. Can you remember what the hub width is?

Those spasms you speak of are not actually spasms.

It's called clonus.



But, yes, my university has cobblestone sidewalks, and I really, really need some frog legs casters. Thanks for the information.
