Hi i'm a male 38 T4 incomplete for 14 months now and I self cath i havent had a problem til the past couple of weeks I could always feel when the cath hit my prostate but lately its very painful when it hits going in and taking it out,is this normal,does your prostate get irritated any answers would help,thank you.Kevin

What age are you Kevin? Are you old enough to have had a prostate problem pre injury?

I'm 38 , i was in perfect health i've been cathing for a year and didnt have a problem just felt it go in and out now it just hurts.

could be gaining some sensation and figuring out what "hurts" is.

Could be an infection or inflammation like prostatitis? Have you been to a docs?

I think the regaining sensation is the most likley but I would take Trinitys advice and get it checked out.

Incidentally my Spinal Unit Consultant told me that Prostate cancer is much rarer in SCI men than non injured men.
