I saw my GP today about the constant pins and needles in my legs and mobility problems (I can walk short distances with splints but use a wheelchair out the house).

I have been refered back to Physio. I have not been to physio for years and years and really don't know what to expect.

Last time I saw a physio was for therapy to keep my muscles strong.

Anyone know what I should expect?

More than likely your GP has little or no understanding of spinal issues, and thinks that all it will take for your condition to improve dramatically is a couple of sessions of bullying by a PT.

If the physio is anything like the one I was sent to, don't expect too much. Probably stand you on a wobble board then accuse you of not trying when you repeatedly fall off it.

Actually, I think you need to be careful not to let the PT push you into doing anything that might cause you further damage.

Your symptoms could be the result of nerve roots being pinched. It is surprising that the GP referred you for PT rather than for a neuro assessment. It might be a good idea to ask your doctor to refer you for one or get a second opinion.

Thanks for the replies. I think your right. I wont get my hopes up or expect too much from the Physio and I will watch what she / he makes me do!

I will see how it goes but I think I will be going back to the GP and asking for as you say a referal to neuro again.
