For the past three months Hilary has been sailing solo around Britain and is almost back to Dover.
You don't need to know any thing about sailing to appreciate her mammoth achievement and when you take into account that she sails her yatch with sip and puff controls, it is all the inspiration you need to kick start any project you have been thinking about but putting off.

Check out her website http://www.hilarylister.com

I met Hilary after she sailed into Bridlington on a windy day a couple of weeks ago. She invited me back to her camp for coffee and a chat, where I was introduced to her team and Lottie her helper dog. I am sure her passion and enthusiasm for what she is doing has rubbed off and changed my perspective of what i should be able to do.

She goes straight to the top of my list of sporting heroes!

I hope she gets the recognition she deserves . :wheelchair:

Woop! I watched her on the BBC showing how her sip and puff boat worked. It was amazing to think you could get that much control over a boat (I used to be a sailing instructor and yes capsized many times not always intentionally!) with just some flexi straws.
We live in a world so scared of upsetting others feelings that the idiots are allowed to rule. Goodbye intelligence.

Wow, that's totally amazing. That's great you got to meet her too, what an awesome experience. I'd love to see that sip and puff boat system in person. Definitely a person to look up to. :)
