In the world of "before" I used to be a sailing / kayak instructor so the world of getting very wet in the name of fun is not new to me.

As usually happens during a warm summers evening when once again for what ever reason I find myself (stuck in bed all on my own and utterly bored of it all) wanting to go out and do the things I /used/ to do.

I have been weighing it up in my mind for a while - do I go for sailing or kayaking? I know fully well that I'd manage just fine in a boat and perhaps that (and the cost) is partly a problem - it's not challenging enough. So the kayaking option is brought up in front of me.

Now unfortunately the centre that I used to teach in has closed down so I can't go there for a session trying to remaster the skllls /work around what I have.

So perhaps my fine friends you will be able to help and suggest somewhere for me?

I am based on the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire border however prefer not to use the place in Leicester owing to having always found the water uncomfortably foul. Travelling is not a problem - especially if you know of somewhere with exceptional facilities (and no Scribs this doesn't mean "a bar"!!).

Also - I'll be needing to renew my kit, so much of it was given to friends and the rest... well I've put on a little weight and will *never* in a million years fit back into that wetsuit! What are your opinions on the best and worse places to buy?

I wish you all a very wonderful weekend.
We live in a world so scared of upsetting others feelings that the idiots are allowed to rule. Goodbye intelligence.
