I went through something similar and really all I can recommend is trial/error and a whole lot of tuning in to your body.

I only offer my info, and can't say for certain this is what you need or what will fix your problem.

When he does have that pain we cath right away but as soon after he says he still feels it. I will try to use cranberry drink!
Thanks bunches!
And with the trial and error, are you able to start using on your own or?

Another thing you said,, that feeling sticking with him, even after draining the bladder... thats pretty normal for me, I always feel like I could just Go at any second.. its waiting for the LOUD signals that lets me know they are real.. its all about listening to and tuning in with his own body!

Tuning in, yes- thats the best remedy. Self-cathing is weird at first and can give you mixed sensations, even now I get them from time to time- like really needing to go when I'm lying down only to have little over 200mils in the bag. Eventually, like Ches already said, you'll get better attuned to the situation.

I wish i had good advice to give, but on the positive side, he's feeling it, right?? I guess just some days you'll have to "go w/ tha flow". Maybe it'll work itself out. But try doing a comfortable routine, before he needs to go. Maybe that will help.
good luck, i know it's a pain.
