hi all :ranting:

i have read some of the very helpful posts regarding wheelchair cushions, however i am unsure of what to realistically get from a pressure reliving cushion comfort wise.

by comfort i mean-pain,positional etc

in the posts people menetion brand names;
some say brand x was brill for me others say the same one wasn't.

what i'd like to know is what do you realistically expect from your cushion and what realistically does it give you?

eg- time sitting without feeling discomfort and / impossible to stay in this position any longer on this cushion.

intrigued to hear you feelings on this matter! painful or otherwise! many thanks

im on a roho...it has pros and cons...pros:air..makes it very nice. i also had it mapped out on a pressure map by the roho rep. i have even distribution that i don't have to worry about weight shifts or pain or sores. it very light. if i have an accident i take off the cover wash it in the washing machine. the pad itself is rubber so urine doesnt get absorbed by the foam and easy to wash.

the cons...it makes transfers difficult especially w/ sliding board. the cushions has nipple or finger like numbs you sit on. makes the board hard to slide under buttt. also the air management part is infront so sometimes my pants open a valve and air is shifted.

overall as a comfort, i do enjoy rohho products sooo it's up to you trial and error method.
