Hey guys and gals. I live at the beach, T12 complete, and kayaks might be for me some day, but I have a float tube to get me in the water again. I will fish from it as well on calm days. I tried it for 1st time Sunday. I have a golf cart which gets me to the water's edge, but then have the shallows to the water deep enough to float, then back again. Best ways to scoot along in the sand? I dragged myself backwards and butt-hopped along. very tiring. Any great ingenious ideas? Also ideas on getting from sand back up on golf cart. I figured you sea-kayakers would have same problems in the sand. Also tough to keep the shorts up that way.

ahh sandy ass.. good times. but really sounds like your doing it about the best way. one leg length at a time. if you pull your legs back up to a bent position after every scoot it makes it easier.

My son figres a slip n' slide would do well and it might. I have a foam exercise mat that's real thin and can be rolled up before and after me and I might slide my way in and out. I'll let you know how it works.

Heck Steve if you have someone there pulling you just get a cheap plastic sled. Save the butt scooting for when you're fishing alone. Ya know though with the right sled you could probably scoot on your own power too.
