Hi everyone!
We would love to hear from other artists that paint by mouth or foot. My hubby is a c4/c5 quadriplegic and paints by mouth.Hes inspired by nature and wildlife as we live in South Africa and are surrounded by game reserves in our region of Kwazulu Natal/Elephant Coast and Hluhluwe Game Reserve. He is a c4/c5 quadriplegic.

Thanks so much for your great feedback! Here is some more sketches he has done by glove on his hand with a stick. The ones posted previously have been painted by mouth. This is him at a local art exhibition.

Janine,

You mentioned a glove your husband used to do his artwork with I believe a stick. My son in law Jon is a video artist and has the same injury c4/c5 that your husband has. Jon and I have been trying to design a glove that would stiffen his wrist and allow him to move, push and pull, his hand with his shoulder to draw. A pen would be attached to the glove using velcro. I've attached a preliminary drawing of what the glove might look like. I saw your comment about your husband using a glove and wondered if you might have alreay developed what we've been working on. I've attached a pdf of what our idea on a glove might look like. Any help out from anyone out there would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

LeRoy

Hi Leroy
Sorry took so long to reply-Only saw your post now.You wont believe it but he uses a simple scateboard glove that has a plastic piece in it to stiffen and therefore keep hand level. He then puts his stick or fork inside it-I will post your a picture!
Regards
Jennae
