More than I wanted to know

Riddle me this;
Why can they jam a Foley cath into your dick w/o the doc no problem but in order to get it out they need a drs order?

Well Sir Ratman...here in the USA; so cali, if the lucky decathed does not pee on their own within 6 hours, a new catheter must be jammed back in to relieve the pressure and/or retrain the bladder; in the case of SCIs above T7, prevention of AD can be the issue... :)
Only after we have lost everything, are we free to do anything.

What I want to know is . . . . Why do people have to constantly be talking to someone over the phone in particular cell phones? It's f***kin' annoying!!! :suicide:

Mr. Hapa and I have shared a cell phone since we've been together. I got it mainly for him when he goes out and may need to call for help.

It came in handy when we moved from MO to AZ b/c we used it for long distance calls, but now we have unlimited LD on our home phone and most of my telephones in the house are tethered. I have a few cordless phones with a headset just in case I get stuck on a call, I can go on and do what I have to do around the house.

So now if we're both home, the cell phone is off and plugged into the charger. If we go out together, we take the cell, but it's off unless we need to use it.

When I go out for instance to the grocery store. Seems no matter where I go, someone is on their cell phone talking about bullshit. I admit, I've used my cell phone to call home while at the store if I see something hubby might like and I'm just checking to be sure I should just get it and how many. I make sure I'm in a spot that won't annoy anyone.

I believe in mult-tasking, but talking the entire time on your cell phone in a public place is just rude. Most of these offenders aren't paying attention and get in my way and usually cause a traffic jam within the store. :ranting:

And oh, I don't even want to get started on idiots who have almost hit me in my car b/c they were on their cell phone not paying attention!!!!

Heres one more "I want to know is" . . . why some people insist on taking their dog with them everywhere they go? (Service dogs excluded of course)

When we first moved to AZ we noticed many places allowed people to bring their dog/pets inside so they aren't left to die in a hot car. But we noticed a change in policy within the past few years, in particular where Mr. Hapa works (a home improvement warehouse).

A large sign was put up that pets are no longer allowed. I believe it's a liability issue, but there are still customers who insist on bringing their dog inside and I'm not referring to a little Chihuahua. Some dogs are as large as Great Danes. It's particularly annoying to Mr. Hapa who's allergic to most pets and always seems to get licked on or jumped on by one of these enormous canines.

The "No Pets Allowed" policy has been in force for about 2 years and the same people still bring their dogs with them. I never want to see an animal suffer in a hot car, but why can't they be left at home????

Guess I'm done ranting, but would like to know the answers.

i agree with the cell phone thing. that drives me crazy. i know men before [cells]who wouldn't be caught dead answering the phone. i never knew men had soooo much to talk about. ladies are known for gabbing too much. still no excuse. they are good if you need help but PLEASE stay off while driving.

i have to admitt. my doggies go where i go. they are a mini schnauzer and a pug. i only take them in the pet store or surrounding stores. they sit in my lap so they don't run around.
my schnauzer pouts when she doesn't get to go. she thinks she has to protect me !!
i had one dog that would tear up stuff if she was left. she would blame only one of us and tear up that persons paper or magazine.

i know .i spoiled them.

Thanks Goose for shedding some light on the pet thing. I don't think it's a good idea to leave them at home if they might tear into something.

I remember years back while watching TV a couple got a pet psychologist to come to their home to help with that problem. The couple too, admitted they had spoiled their dog. Admission is the first step to solving the problem.

I do get the pet thing for pet stores and of course sometimes it would be a pain to drive the dogs back home if you need to go to adjoining stores.

Goose, you seem to be a responsible dog owner, so you are exempt from my rant

i know they are spoiled. i spoiled them.
i do make them behave in stores. however, my schnauzer starts howling when she goes into the pet store. she loves to talk. good thing she doesn't have a cell phone.

i've always asked before going into a store. most stores that are pet friendly let you know.

My Mom started this when she and my step-dad became empty-nesters, and had nothing else to direct their attention toward. Now, that dog is her baby . . . she dresses it, coddles it, feeds it a mixture of people food with the dog food, sleeps with it, and brings it EVERYWHERE as well. It became a HUGE bother for me, as I owned a cat (no deceased). And my step-dad would always tease the dog, asking it, "where's the cat, Cody . . . where's the cat?"

That dog actually limits where we can go sometimes, especially to restaurants. And THEY take offense at the policy of that business, as though it's such an unusual policy to NOT allow DOGS in a public place where people eat.

My oldest sister got a Maltese many years ago when her daughters were about 10 and 8 (early 90s).

The dog got treated better than the kids and of course her hubby. In fact, hubby slept on the sofa many nights while the dog slept on his side of the bed.

My sister felt this dog was her soul mate. She was a cute little thing though I have to admit. Also very protective particularly of my sister, our mom and me.

Once when the entire family went to my oldest sister's for Christmas, one of my nieces kiddingly punched me and the dog sat right at my feet and showed her teeth and just growled at my niece like "Don't you dare do that again or I'll chomp your hand off."

Sis never took the dog with her anywhere except for an occasional drive or the vet. The dog passed away about 5 years ago and my sister took it very hard. She blames herself for leaving the dog at the vet/kennel while on vacation. There were some young immature people hired to care for all the pets in the kennel and they didn't give the dog her insulin and she went downhill after that. My sister has the cremains, which freaks out my mom who is now living there.

Reading this post reminds me of "ol E-Dog's lost "other posts." Who remembers the post where Illinois Boy constantly asked E-dog the meaning of certain sayings.
Jim would post a saying like, "A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush."
Then Ian would give us his crazy spin, as only E-dog could, about where that saying derived from.
Can somebody find that?

Not too long ago on an automotive forum we had a long disscussion about idiots and their pets. Well, actually it was about xar show etiquite, but we spend about 3/15 pages on people who bring dogs to car shows. Don't do it! :hammer:

BOMP--BOMP

i heard this one a million times today at the car show and yes,my mini schnauser heard it too. she sat in my lap and no, she didn't hike her leg on any tires. we own many classic cars and no one has ever had a problem with her being there. she gets more attention [pets] [feels] than some cars. alot more sweeter than some grumpie old men. she doesn't hike her leg or leave the seat up!! she is a little lady and acts like too.
