Heya, i'm c7c and have a nearly 3yo daughter.
Was wondering if anyone had suggestions of games or things to do with her, we play a fair bit but just wondering about what other parents do ?

My husband is a c-5 and does a lot of reading with our 5 yr old daughter. You're little girl may not be in to this but Jazmine Loves to dress up for him and put on shows for him( pretty much the same show everytime, what she's going to do when she wins the X-Games).

My youngest granddaughter likes chasing me or me chasing her around in circles in the driveway. (I have an electric wheelchair.) She also loves to sit in my lap while I drive around. If she knows her colors yet, she and you can guess what color the next car is coming down the street. Of course I read to her a lot. We play things like grocery store with some toy food or canned goods. We have tea parties with her toy dishes. Just really simple things make her happy.

My wife (C5/6) has a tray table on her chair, so our 3 stands on her footplate and plays with his toys on the tray table. It also makes a great Mummy Train, and is terrific for stories.
Stories, Chasing and painting are other great ways of playing. Remote control toys are also great. The RC units can be easily modified to make them easier to manipulate, and you can interact with the child on the ground.

My husband is a c5/6. We have two boys 5 & 7. He likes to watch them do plays, rides on the power chair (of course), reading, and running things over with his power chair. We are going to buy some board games for Christmas and play "in teams" as well. That way he can help one and I help the other. His laptop is great for lots of fun too. He finds all kinds of funny pictues and videos for the boys to watch. The really like that "gummy bear" video.

E-dog... your so funny. The closets and duct tape are to be used when the kids turn into teenagers. Duh!

Having two children - both girls - ages 5 and (almost) 3 years old - when we're with my buddy James who is a T-10 complete: Things we've done: movie night (which the kids love)- We all sit and watch movies with popcorn, etc. If they were older he would teach them how to play his XBox but for the time being it's kids movies, at home on the couch with pizza and popcorn.

Of course, my girls also think that James is the equivalent to a roller coaster ride and he is fine letting them push him around the house (which eventually either tuckers them out or completely winds them up). The kids love playing hide-n-seek in the same room with us - which is hilarious because well - taking into account their ages - there aren't many places to hide in just one room and most of the time they choose to hide under his chair. James is an absolute great sport about it and the element of surprise with these girls is absolutely hilarious to see unfold because when they laugh ~ we all LAUGH. I loved it when last time they played DUCK, DUCK, GOOSE and they choose one another as the goose and ran around James' chair for a clear 3 minutes laughing hysterically which sent us into hysterics as well....

Storytime is the very sweet part - he will actually sit on the couch and let the girls climb next to him while he flips through the pages. *those are the moments that steal my heart* My girls understand that James is in a chair and that "his spine is broken" - those are the words my 5 year old Abbey uses to explain his SCI, however they do not treat him any differently from anyone else in our family, etc. of course that only means he gets the same "drama and cheese" factor everyone else does when they want attention and "to put on a show". Honestly - if there is a captive audience kids will always be satisfied.

EDog - Duct Tape and Closets. Ha. My father would handcuff my sister and I together if we would bicker with one another long enough. It only took us 2 tries to figure out how to pick the lock. It all depends on the lesson you really want those kids to learn if you're going to occupy them in such a manner. LOL.

i do wat ever i can with my son who is four

but he was born after my accident so this is all he know if she was already born then ur accident its a lil different but kids really dont care just as long u spend time with them

1)take them out side to backyard and just play
2) color /draw picture
3) play barbie and ken or babies
4)sit and watch tv/movie their into
5)make-belive
6) and last spank them lol j.k

just really think back to when you were a kid wat u rember
and try to give them same experiences

I'm a t 4 compleat para.I raised 3 children as a single mom. They are now 35, 21, &19. There is a lot you can do with your kids, but in a differant way than an able bodied parent. At the age of 3 we played in the yard. I made sure the yard was fenced in. Waterplay is a lot of fun. Give your child a pail of water and a big paint brush and you can petend to paint the house. Toss a ball to each other, race in your chair with your child. My kids loved this.Give child a paper bag to collect leaves, stix, flowers to make a collage with for when you come inside. In the house I had a gate for every room in the house, this way I could keep the child close. We would sind songs along with kid videos or song books. I read lots of stories with child on my lap/ I taught them to climb up on me using the foot rest.We also did puzzles and games. 3 year olds can play the memory card game as well as others.Also we had a dressup box. Kids love to play dress up and pretend.I drive with hand controles.So we went places wih the help of my older child and friends. I hope this helps some.

I use to teach 3yr olds so I would play learning games. My daughter was 7mth when I got sick. So I know how hard it can be wanting to be apart of things. I use to show her a color and she would have to go around the room and find me things with that color on it, same with shapes. You can play games with her on nickjr.com and they have good ideas as well. My daughter loves that site. By the time she was almost 4 she could play the computer herself. I'll think on it and get back to you with more ideas.

one thing i did with my children was read to them and every day. when my children hit kindergarten they were already readers. i used a book called "teach you child to read in 100 lessons". the home school mom's turned me onto this book and it has really helped my children be successful students. both are in hs now and are outstanding student.

i also started them in ballett classes around 3. the school didn't take kids who weren't potty trained. my youngest wanted to dance so badly she was potty trained by 18 months. she always wanted to keep up with her big sister. i also had them in soccer by 4. they are both good atheletics as well. my oldest is ranked 5th in our state in the 5k and already has colleges wanting her. this really makes me proud since i can't walk that my girl can run. i kept them busy and we enjoyed those days so much.
