Hello all, my name is Brandy and I stumbled upon this website while i was researching bladder complications for my husband. 7 years ago my husband fell 20 feet from his tree stand while bowhunting. He laid in the woods in 45 degree rainy weather for about 8.5 hours until i got out of work and became concerned that he hadn't returned . After finding him the woods he was rushed to the hospital where they determined that he had fractured his L1 and T12 Lumbar, and underwent a 9 hour surgery the next day.
I really wish that I would've have known about this site back then. It was such an emotional roller coaster ride. I had so many questions to ask, the doctor's did theie best to explain but they spoke very broken engllish. They said that he would probably never walk again. We had a 4 year old and i was 5 1/2 months pregnant when he fell. I visited him everyday for the 3 weeks that he was in the hospital. I never thought that he would come home... When he did come home we had a very rude awakening, he couldn't climb stairs (all the bedrooms are on our 2nd floor) He was determined from day one that he would walk again. He now where's afo's on both legs and gets around everywhere (with some difficulty). He even goes bowhunting in a tree stand and enjoys snowmobiling. He never gave up!
I am very glad that I found this site and I am looking foward to chatting with you all!
