Hi,
I am a 38 year old T4 comlete para. I have travelled a little bit in Canada and the USA and every hotel, motel I try will say they are accessable but when you get there everything is wrong. The grab bars are in dumb places and I always have to bring a toilet seat riser. Not only that but since I am not that strong I cannot get myself in and out of the bath tubs. I get stuck with bathing myself in the sink and in bed.
I would like to travel with my wife to BC or to the east coast and I would like information of accomadation, something better than a sponge bath.
How do I search??
Please help thanks.

Motel Accessibility
Check out this link...I just googled it quickly, so I can't offer any personal recommendations, but hopefully it might help you to get started in your search.
I've had the same problems with so-called 'accessible' motels too. I'm beginning to think that they lie just to make the booking.
Another link that might be useful:
Independence Inc.

Hostelling International's west end Vancouver, B.C. has the only w/c suite in town that's affordable. I stayed there a month last year. Here's a link..
