I am interviewing for a job that requires a Polygraph exam. Being a c5/c6 quad my body is not like most people who take this exam. My legs jump at random times, my hands shake, I get goose bumps if I need to pee and about 100 other things that might make it seem like I am being deceptive. Has any one taken a Polygraph exam after being injured? What was the outcome? Is there some sort or research or law out there on Polygraph exam for people with spinal cord injuries?

Your question got me curious so I googled a bit. Looks like disability are cause for exemption in some states, but I dont if thats of any help or where you even are located. Looks like best thing to do is check with the Specific Employer Policies, or research the ADA.

Ok I admit it, I was watching one of those sensationalist tv talk shows, you know along the lines of did you sleep with my best friend, etc etc, Anyway they had a guy who was a para on being accused of something by his girlfriend !!! but they host announced that they were unable to do the polygraph because of his condition, they said it would not give accurate results or something like that. Hope this answers your question.

I volunteered for a polygraph when some money went missing from an our office. We discovered that a C5-C6 quad does not respond. Almost everything was flat-lined and my tester stopped after about 10 minutes.

Man, I never tell the truth as to do so would be to lie.
So what good is a polyograph .. it would just confuse me even more

Thats easy - go flat out in a straight line - avoid those bends, they are panful - then you get home befor the polyographers

It's becoming quite common, here in the states,,, right along with the peeing in the cup. A very untrusting lot, aren't we. With good reason, I guess. It's become impossible to weed out the crazies. And profiling is considered discrimination.

Funny how that word has changed in meaning over the years,,, once it was a compliment to say one had disciminating taste,,, now it would get him sued.

Carried a TS while in the service and then had to get, 10 years later, a secret clearance for working inside secured areas while in the construction field. Had that for over twentyfive yrs. Never had to have a lie detector test for any of it.
