So what would you do if you had/had acess to a time machine?

I would go to when cars were nice and cheap, buy a bunch of classics, put em in storage, come back to now and have a bunch of all original low milage cars. Of course, I'd also do the sports almanec thing ala Back To The Future

I'd toss yer young ass in the damn thing, spin the dial, and with a BIG FAT SMILE ON MY FACE press the friggin' button and go "whew, that should keep him out of our hair for a bit!"

Now how 'bout another silly question, huh?

E / 8:00 Saturday night rather tired of the whole "being paralyzed thing" :specool:

Meh, deal with it. I thin I'd also travel far enough in the future to when they can fix a f*@ked up spine.

Watch it disintergrate as it went past it's made (birth) date.
Think about it.
If a screw was made on 25 Jan 2005 ... it wouldn't exist befor that date

So you would have to go forward in time only
Thus the older your damage .. the less likely a healing cure

How do you figure that? If said item was indeed transcending time it would be unaffected by the passage (or reversal) of time. Time is linier therefore can only move forward meaning things can only age, not get younger. Of course, the only instances of 'time travel' have been in actuality time skips, ie moving into the future, but let's use our imaginations for a moment

If there were such a thing as Time Travel it would already be happening.

Why do we assume we just need the techknowledgey to discover it?

For all we know, someone from the future could be amongst us right now, causing havoc and chaos; couldn't they E-Dog.... :mfrlol:

(I wonder what the time is?. )

Time is a unit of measurment and time as we've come to comenly use it is a farce. Einstein expermented with time skips in the 50s. But why does it have to go down the plausiblity road? Can't we just take the question for what it is, a what if?

I'd probably go back to 4/27/90 & ask to go somewhere ELSE for dinner. :lmao:

But then again if I'd done that then I'd have finished high-school & gone off to a 4yr university......so although that would be nice......I guess I'm glad cause I have 4 great kids.

LOL Trin!
Well i would just check my future out and see if its worth changing, if its crap then i would go back to the time of my accident and make sure it doesn't happen, then go back into the future get one of them sports almanec magazines and also write down a years worth of lottery numbers and win every week....hmmm wonder if the national lottery would ban me for winning every week? :lmao: Then just live my life as it happens but as a rich dude!

I would go back in time to make sure my accident didn't happen.

btw, saw a show on time on the science channel, and the new theory on time is that the future grows out of the space-time particles of the present. so, then, we couldn't go to the future b/c the present hasn't happened yet.

If you could ,,, you would,,, but nothing would change because it already happened.

On the other hand, any change would branch into another dimension, where that would play out. In fact,, that might be what is happening now,,, each possibility branching into a new dimension.

I think Rod Serling might have used this in an episode.

The butterfly Effect was a VERY cool flik.

Also, I just read The Time Traveler's Wife. The premise was very cool, except when traveling only the PERSON traveled, not his clothes . . . . OUCH!!

Also, he never chose when or where he was going, it just happened. So, that whole appearing some where naked unexpectedly thing could become a neusance after awhile.

I'd go back to when I was 17 and pick nursing over computer science.

Life would have forked pretty differently from there. I hate the fact that I had to pick my career at 17.

I'd go back to when I was starting school and tell the story of my life to myself. Encourage myself to do better and why and not to start work in the factory I did straight out of school. Then win about 10 of the biggest Lotteries and give it to myself once I had graduated university and worked for a few years and then ask all the other Apparelyzed members if they too wanted to be out of their chairs too.

Then I would quite possibly buy a Lamborghini and wrap it around a lamp post and kill myself or end up a blind epileptic, brain damaged permanently vented epileptic quad - or worse. It would be tempting but I watched the Butterfly Effect. Although my life isn't great, it could also be a lot less good than it currently is.

If I did have a time machine though, would it be theoretically possible that if I went and changed my life that it would change enough that I wouldn't have invented/purchased/found my time machine in the first place and therefore would possibly end up not getting said time machine and being unable to change things for myself or others in the first place?

Thanks Ratti, you got me thinking.
