Hello all,

I'm a Canadian with C4-T11 but I'm really independent. I could walk with a walker but I'll be travelling in my electirc wheelchair.

I'm trying to find accessbility information about individual cities for my trip (first time since I'm in a chair for 2 years now!)

So far, I decided to travel to:

Munich-->Vienna-->Zurich-->St. Moritz -(Glacier Express)->Zermatt-->Geneva-->Home

Anyone have any accessble touring information on these cities? I would prefer some hands on experience information.

Just been at a trade show in Germany recently and the good thing is that there were quite a few stands that were advertising accessible tourism / accommodation in Germany, Austria, etc...

Unhelpfully for you, I didn't grab any flyers as I didn't have need.

You could start your search with http://www.germany-tourism.co.uk/EGB/pract..._travellers.htm and fan out from there. You'll find that every town has a tourist information office and they all speak english.

There is a great chain of budget hotels called B&B which really impressed me in Leipzig: clean friendly, most wheelchair accessible shower room that I found in the city, and only €35 per night for a single. Don't know how accessible hostels are, but for the money, this place beat all others I tried, hands down.

Like all places that offer wheelchair accessible accommodation, you may want to ask a few questions like: flat floor shower? etc...
Don't know about the places you're visiting but Leipzig is really friendly towards accessibility, and I guess that is a national culture?

Also this hotel was at the exhibition and really looked as if they had gone the extra mile, though haven't been there and know noting of prices: http://www.hotel-bra.../en/default.asp
