My boyfriend is finally ready to come home next week after almost a year of hospitals and rehab facilities. Any pointers as to making the transition go more smoothly? We have nursing in place, equipment and home modifications in place, caregivers in place.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hey Sweetie, my husband has been home for a year now after his injury. All I can tell you, is GO SLOW and let things fall into place. They will.....they really will, but being home at first can be overwhelming. I think we thought we were prepared, too, but really it just takes time to adjust to your new normal. Give yourself time.......and be kind to each other. Good luck...wish I could offer more, but I think it just simply takes time.

Thank you, I'm just thankful that we do have time, you know what I mean? When these injuries occur, life is so uncertain, it's just nice to know that we actually will have a future to plan. Thanks for the advice!
