We are taking three months to backpack RTW staying in hostles and visiting friends. Leaving end of April.Can any one suggest a lightweigt bed mat that will help prevent sores from lumpy beds? Or any other real travel tips- we wont be staying in hotels so wheel-in shower or bath problems N/A as it'll be a bucket over the head.
Im T4/5 para (comp). But hubby sstrong and kids 11 and 8 fairly useful. I recon it'll be worth taking a porta loo any recommendations. We visiting Japan (I know totally unaccessable) Au NZ n USA overland. Any good web site suggestions or have you done it? would love to hear from you.

Hi Belinda,

I was backpacking in OZ, NZ... and I will recommend you what most backpackers would do - buy the Lonely Planet (or just have a look in it)- everybody calls it the backpackers bible.
The only thing is it is written for people without a disability. However, they do have a part for people with disability (or wheelchair). Just check it out in the library and I hope they give lots of informations.
I should start writing travel books for people with disabilities.
