My husband is an Incomplete Quad and has severe spasticity. His SCI was in September 2008 and he had no spasms until April 2008. His spasms are horrific...throwing his legs off the bed in the night and having spasms that almost throw him out of his wheelchair. He had the Baclofen trial in July and it was HEAVEN. So, he got the surgery for the pump in Septemberr 2009. They started him out with the same amount as the trial which was 75 mcg. Since the surgery, we have went every 2 days to the doctor to get increases. He is now at 460 mcg daily. But, it's weird because he will have a day or two of complete relaxation in his tone and spasms and then right back to severe spasms. More bad days than good. We're not sure whats going on. We know there's no problem with his bowel regimen. We just took a urine sample for a urinalysis yesterday to see if he has a UTI. (has suprapubic tube) And I called the doctor and we have finally decided to do the dye test next week. I was wondering if anyone has their pump set to do the bolus doses and if they think this works better than having it contunously. I have read that if there is no problem found after the dye test that we should try the bolus does. Any thoughts??
