Hi all,

I'm supposed to be going on a friends 40th next year, and for a theme, we will be going to one pub from each colour of the Monopoly Board game in London.

So, because I'm in a chair, we need to know of accessible pubs. We can manage 1 or 2 steps, as there will be a few hands to help out, but it would be handy if there were some loo's in some of the pubs.

If the pub has access, but is a "minger" then we'll skip it, so really we're only looking for the better pubs.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Simon

Oooh, pubs! A fave topic of mine although I don't think I would make it round half the board without collapsing, thats some crawl!

Angel Islington -- The Albion and The Garden. The Albion is better imo! There are plenty of pubs and bars, including some chain bars as soon as you hit Angel, good place to stop for food / beer sponge too

Marylebone Station -- There is a sports bar in the back of it, accessible from the road. Can't remember the name of it though (it's to the left hand side of the station entrance)

Liverpool Street -- The Railway ?Inn? ?Tavern? something like that! (also close to Brick Lane for that late night Ruby)

Leicester Square -- The Moon Under The Water (Weatherspoons I think, cheap n cheerful!)

Mayfair -- The Pitcher and Piano (another chain job but is not bad at all)

That's all I can think of at the moment

Ahh just noticed you're only doing one drink per colour, I have yellow, light blue, dark blue and err stations? covered. Haha

Do you know the website: http://www.beerintheevening.com/

The Strand is mostly accessible, and with a couple of hotels on it you could have a posh drink?

Can't think of Trafalgar Sq pub

Waiting for a text from a friend of name of his local that I've been in a few times which was all level and easy, though no accessible loos.

Fleet Street pub is Punch Tavern which is unexception but I've always found the staff friendly. Maybe that's because my mate used to live above and so knew them. That site lists others.

I have sent them an email to ask them about an accessibility feature. It'd be so easy for them to do. 2 basic questions as far as I see:
- level or stepped access
- accessible toilets

Enjoy the crawl. You be absolutely floored if you drink at every pub...

The Strand - The Coal Hole only has one step up at the front, not sure about loos tho. Very famous having been the coal hole for the Savoy Hotel in olden times...

Hope this helps

Get the latest Good Beer Guide and look in the London area guides for the accessible sign and nearest station. Pubs vary, but the beer's usually good.
