I have recently run into a problem with my spinergy rims beginning to crack where the spokes attach, to me after looking at it it seems like a poor design where the whole for the spoke is to big for the rim design. I got them in early april of this year, i purchased them because everything i read seemed to make them the best or close to it that you can buy. They are the everyday use light extreme model.

I am fairly certain that there is still a warranty on them and they will be replaced, if not they will never hear the end of it from me, but

If anyone has an experience with this please let me know

Apparently my dealer purchased them through sunrise medical, and sunrise claims that there is no warranty becuase it is a wearable part. That cant be right, when after just over 6 months i am going to need new ones.

This whole medical equipment thing always pisses me off cuz nothing is every easy and you must fight for everything. ahh

I had a spinergy collapse on me, when I dropped down an 8" step coming out of a coffee shop in Den Haag! I was driving for my friends band and because the van was so full of gear I opted not to take spare wheels. Luckily, I was with people and we managed to hobble back to the van on one wheel and find a wheelchair shop {after a lot of searching}. I dropped lucky again, they managed to find a pair of sun rims and axles to fit which I am still using to this day and they only charged me 110 euros.

I bought my spinergies from Bromakin in Loughborough {uk} and they were replaced under guarantee. I noticed there were hairline cracks around the area the spokes meet the hubs so it was an accident waiting to happen.

I can only suggest you get directly intouch with Spinergy Fred, it sounds very unreasonable of Sunrise not to help you.

For those Spynergys, call Spynergy. That's all you can really do if you got them on a Quickie, as Sunrise and their dealers won't help you. You are not the only one to have hell with them.

Sunrise and their dealers that I have dealt with have been general pains in the ass so far. I love my GTi, but the J3 backrest is a piece of junk (though I didn't realize it at the time I got it). The dealer I got the chair from won't return my calls, and the dealers here in Austin seem to not want to sell me anything since I didn't get my chair from them. It's ridiculous!

There was fault on earlier Spinergy LX's which made them crack around the hub. If I was you I would contact Spinergy direct and see what they say: http://www.spinergy..../contact_us.php

Ive had problems with both sets of my spinergys, I had and have the Lx ones! the first set, cracked round the hub like johnny! Im actually looking into getting new wheels, I dont think I will be going with spinergy again, I dont want to keep spending money on them if I keep getting problems!
Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

I've had no problems at all with my spinergy's, had them about four and a half years now, and i go up and down curbs, go down steps. Maybe i've just got a good set lol. But saying that now, next time i'm out they'll probably break on me haha.

If you want a cheaper Spinergy replacement then look at the Sun Fusion 16 Wheels: http://www.sportaid.com/sun-components-fus...-25-26-x-1.html or http://www.spokz.co.uk/sunwheels.htm

They have some good reviews, are still very light and of course workout a lot cheaper.
