discussion posts have helped me adapt and I hope my experience will help someone else. My injury is at T12 so I cannot walk. My injury is new and I just gave birth to my 2nd child, 1st with injury. After 8 months my blood pressure started to elevate and my leg swelling got really bad. It seems that my blood pressure would go down when I layed down. I worked up to my due date (I have an office job). Something really strange was that my legs got tight in the last month and it would hurt incredibly in the pelvic area to rotate my legs. This went away after the birth. The birth was natural and I was able to push and feel the contractions. I didn't have an epidural, but I had the IV of some drug. After birth my bladder was unpredicatable so I asked that they put in a foley so I wouldn't have to worry about accidents in that first night. 12 hours later I took the foley out and I was able to control my bladder again. For the two days after birth I had to cath every 2-3 hours because my body was releasing all of the extra water it had retained. It was confusing to know when my bladder was full, because I usually get a tingling/burning sensation, and I was getting the same sensation throughout the days for the 1st week. My daughter is now 1 week old now and I am grateful to have my energy back and all is going well.I hope this helps someone. Take care all...
