My other half still has the bullet that injured him lodged in his neck. He has been injured for 14 years. From time to time he has pain in the location. What are the risks of the bullet shifting and causing further damage. Or what are the risks of surgical removal!

Only a Doctor staring at his x-ray can tell you that.

Pwuff is right. Regular x-rays and checkups could help the doc determine that stuff, but there's no way for anyone to know otherwise.

I'd like to think that in 14 years,, somebody would have asked this before,,, of those more apt to have an answer.

It's pretty obvious that such a situation should be watched closely,,, but,, then,, in most parts of the world it would be. Where are you located?

If for some reason, your SO has avoided doctors for most of the last 14 years,, I think it might be time to check with them again.

Hoping for the best.

That is a great way to start Christmas!!!

It would be grand if you would fill out your profile a bit more.

I was also shot in the neck and have pain. I'm not sure about the risks, but I do know that the Bullet can shift. The bullet was stuck in my neck and over time it worked its way out. I would just check with doctors and always get second opinions.
