I probably worry too much anyway, but I'm hoping someone else has encountered this and has some ideas. My wife's resting heart rate is really fast. I need to actually measure it (that may help!) but I can tell you that for the last couple of years it's something that really worries me, especially after reading a few articles about Heart Disease being a big issue for folks with SCI. It doesn't matter if she's just reading a book. She's very active (other than sitting all the time, you know what I mean!).

She went to the doc about 2 years ago to take a test and they sent her home with a bunch of stuff all taped to her and it would read her cardiac information over a 24 hr period and then she would return the equipment and get the results. Well, for many reasons she didn't complete the 24 hr period with all the stuff attached and was so frustrated that she returned it and that was the end of that. No more tests, no results. She didn't seem too worried about it and always shrugs it off when I say anything about how fast her heart beats.

I guess what I'm wondering is, am I worried for nothing? Any ideas or suggestions about what to do to bring her heart rate down? I love my wife and want to live many many many many years together! She can't outlive me dammit, I get to die first! j/k.

Thanks all.
