This is my Lantra Super Touring Car which I've just purchased. Will need a complete tear down and inspect everything for wear and replace whats needed. cos she's been sitting for a while things look a little messy and run down, but I'll clean and fix that all up... :) Once that's all done i'll be back on the track :th_driving1:

Hyundai Lantra 2.0L Super Touring Car.

Built by Hyundai to compete in the Australian super touring championship.
Engine powerplant is a 2.0L N/A Mitsubishi 4G63 (Mitsubishi supplied Hyundai with engines before they built their own under licence, not to mention this model never ever got a 2L option but super touring regs allowed you to take one from the manufacturers line of models, which in this case, the Hyundai Sonata had the 4G63)
Power output is around 280-300HP with a rev limit of 8500 as per super touring regs.
Dry Sumped.
Wheels: 19"X 9 centerlock wheels (rear wheels in the pic has the transporting nuts on them for the ratchet straps)
6 Speed XTRAC Sequential Gearbox with Viscious Differential. (gear lever is on the steering column behind the wheel)
Engine Management is Motec with PI Research data acquisition.
AP racing Airjacks
AP racing 6 Pot Calipers up front with 378mm Rotors
AP Racing 2 Pot Calipers on the rear with 275mm rotors iirc
Fully adjustable Mcpherson strut suspension all around with adjustable blade anti roll bars.

Looks nice Bevan. Does this mean we will soon see you battling the likes of Garth Tander and Jason Bargwanna at the next Bathurst?

I dont think I could contort myself enough to fit in my wee 205 rally car. I've not been brave enough to try yet! I'm too worried that if I did get in, and couldnt get back out, the local Fire Brigade would need to cut me out!

Still a normal lever for the brake which is connected to the brake pedal. the steering wheel has a button to activate the solenoid to push the gear lever forward to shift down. throttle is taken care of by a ring behind the wheel.. pull to accelerate. Clutch is only needed to pull away or to come to a dead stop... not needed to shift up or down gears. i'll either make a mechanical link for that or make use of a solenoid.

thats it really....

bugger, coupla minutes too late otherwise I would have come over and said hi!
just hopped into a mates 4x4 by the shed just as you hopped out......

ahh well we'll meet up soon no doubt :mfrlol: how's the karting going btw?? I was looking at the karts Ian had there, it was tempting just sitting there and thinking how i can get one of these too and race em lol but 1 toy is enough for now hehe

yeah thats very similar to what im gonna have, and yeah i only need the clutch to pull away or come to a complete stop... will see how we go...
gotta make up the ring myself, but i may have found another source, just waiting to hear back.

actually out in the garage now sweating like mad cos of the heat while working on the car :)

i'm sure we'll catch up somwhere. i'm down to 1 toy now. my bike got stolen then my daughters boyfriend was working on my jetski & burnt it down to the trailer. with the throttle make sure you use a good quality linial bearing as the cheap ones get notchy
