Desperate times call for desperate actions... I am a 33 year old male (T-12 paraplegic) who has been doing exercises for the two years after my paralysis. To no avail concerning my back spasms and pain management! As I shed more tears and lose more sleep, I am in serious need of learning of anyone who can put my clock "twenty past four" ?! The people I have known in the past who could were SHADY or CREEPS! Oh well, never know unless you try. I am stuck here in the San Antonio area.

I have rods in my back as well. Try taking Advil PM for back pain at night. I can't sleep with out it. Regular Advil does crap for me.

Also good mention on the mattress. I use a Air Mattress that is very comfortable. Its so comfortable that i have trouble getting out of it in the morning. Make sure you have the mattress that is right for your back Epically with rods infused.

Sounds like its the rods doing the damage; possibly not but in correctly. I've got 2 7inch rods, 2 plates and 8 screws in my back and have never had a problem with them. I have xrays done every 6 months to check them and they are still fine. They are perfectly straight and I have a great posture because of them.

Maybe see a doctor about using morphine in tablet form. They take the pain away, help you get to sleep and make you feel pretty comfortable. lol

Seems they did not quite grasp the twenty past four inquiry. Im here in Austin and things are always looking good.I hate to see someone go without. I will see if I can put you in touch with a friend down there or you might have to make a trip a lil north. Good luck in the meantime.

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

I'm also a T-12, w/ i dunno how long of a titanium rod. I think from my t11-my L1/2, not sure, but anyhow. I'm generally more sore from my back in the mornings when i wake up, which surprisingly to me is easier to manage than to have severe back pain through the night, which just subsided not too awful long ago. I currently take no drugs other than ibuprofen/tylenol for my pain. HOWEVER....i'm not quite sure what kind of pains it is exactly that YOU'RE talking about, BUT i was in such severe leg pain and spasms for a year and a half until one night. I touched my bfs feet w/ mine and he jumped nearly out of his skin saying that my feet were ice cold! Well, of course they are ice cold, honestly they always were, even before SCI. Anyways, he broke out w/ these really thick wool socks of his that come up to my knees to get them warm. Well, w/in about 15 minutes ALL of my pain went away and took my spasms w/ it. I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THE PAIN I WAS IN ALL THAT TIME, AND ALL THE PILLS I TOOK TO MAKE IT GO AWAY, WHEN ALL I HAD TO DO WAS JUST PUT ON SOME DAMN SOCKS!!! What a waste of time in sooooooooooooooooo much pain. Ridiculous if you ask me....anyways..just thought i would mention that. I'm terribly sorry you're going through pain. My back is hurting a lot these days too, but i'm a tough cookie, so i'm baring w/ it hoping nothing serious is wrong. But my spasms and legs/feet don't ache anymore and keep me up all night. I sleep ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Good luck!
