I'm really excited as I am supposed to be getting my new redman power standing chair this Tuesday. Does anyone have one or had experience with one in the past? I've seen just a few reviews online -- some good, some bad.

I've got one. It's been broke down as much as it's been in use. I hadn't had my new redman for a month when the lift broke in a standing position. I had to wait on help to manually remove the cable and rig up some straps to hold the seat back up and the arms. It took 3 months to get new parts and they told me that was my fault for putting pressure on the arms. How is a para to transfer without putting some pressure in transfers? I told them they should redesign the chair. After that a month later the motors started making a LOUD screeching noise and again I had to wait for a tech to be on my area to change the drive motors out. Another 2 months wait. Now the chair has problems pushing me up slight inclines and have to be pushed and they won't replace the motors again. My advice is get another chair or get ready to wait. They are in Arizona and no one else can work on them. I hope someone else reads this.It also does wheelies on inclines and can't see where I'm going. If you have to get this chair ask for heavy front end and torque not speed motors. This thing goes 10mph with speed motors.

This picture is after only a few weeks before it started breaking down. I leave it in my garage now and use a Jazzy which I never have problems with. Good luck!

Be very careful about buying one...... I have had mine for over 7 years and have had mutiple problems. I have replaced the drive motors 3 times on mine. Redman was great in sending them out (warranty) but to have a tech come to do the actual work was a joke. At the time they only had one tech in th States. My dad had to do the replacement. I have had several electrical issues with the chair, and again no service tech coming out had to try to fix it via telephone conversations. My dad had to "hotwire" certain wires in order to get the foot rest to come down into position. In my opion the chair is very unsafe in the standing position while moving. It does not have nearly enough weight in the rear to support an adult in the standing mode while moving. If for some reason you had to make a sudden stop and depending on your weight and how high you are standing, you could fall forward. Eventually after having numerous electrical issues and being left stranded either in a recline, standing, feet elevated or what ever, my Dad had to strip the chair of all the wires and safety switches and rewire back to the very basics to get my chair going again. The chair is rugged.......but service and quality are not there. My humble 2 cents worth!
