I have been paralyzed fron 22 Jan 02 I am currently taking 1200 mg x 4 of Gabapentin and 20 mg x 3 of Oxycontin down from taking 60 mg x 3 the drugs seem to not be working very well as I have constint pain like fire in my arms 24 7. I really would like to be off the drugs all together. It started when spinal fluid blocked up and fill up in my neck pressing the nerves in my arms untill I could not open a water bottle asking the so called pain doc I was going to for an MRI to check if thing were the why they should be but all he kept telling me was he knows what he is doing just take another pill untill I was on 45mg x 4 of oxycodone why above oxy untill I called a very good Neur Surgen whom gave me an MRI and found the problem. But now I live with the pain.

I am hoping there is someone that knows of any other answers.

Thanks and have a a Marry Christmas and a even better New Year
God Bless you and God Bless America :badmood:

I have no advice about getting off the drugs but have you tried different drugs? There are other drugs that can be quite effective for nerve pain which include pregabalin, amitryptilline and many others, if what you are taking is not effective maybe consider a switch, not much to lose really!
