Bed Mobility Ideas For C5

I was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas or equipment currently used to assist with a C5 spinal cord injury. Every time we try new ideas, we run up short. We want to get him from lying to sitting but his arms are too weak to lift his legs. He wants to be able to do it on his own. Any ideas anyone has? Experience?
