I am looking to get spinergy wheels and could use so advice. My current wheels on my quickie2lite seem to be to heavy and hard to push. im considered a quad however i have really good upper body strength and finger movement but my grip strength is not as good which is making harder to push. I think spinergys with diffrent hand rims would help alot and make my chair lighter and easier pu push around and get in the car.
my questions are as follows:
my wheels now are 24 inch will going to 25 inch make it easier to push up inclines and getting around?
is it worth the extra money to get 12 spoke lx vs 24 spoke spox( which i can get for 250)
will tires make difference what kind to get im mostly on smooth level surfaces
thanks for everyones help
i want to order tommorrow so i have for christmas. my gift to myself

I have spinergy tires and have used them for years. I am not sure how they compare to your current tires as far as weight. Mine are the 25 inch. I recently went to using the natural fit handrim on the chair which is ergonomically better. Spinergy also makes an ergonomic rim. I used kik solid inserts tires for years so as to avoid flats and airing up tires. I recently switched to the schwalbe tires and love them. You get the benefit of the solid tire but it has air. So, the ride is smoother and seems easier to me. Plus, I have been told it is virtually impossible to get a flat in them.
For info on the ergonomic handrims, you can see them on sportaid.

Im not a big fan out of my natural fit rims, a few minutes into the day and I already feel kinda arthritic in my hands.. I have to stop and pop my knuckles few times a day...
great now u tell me..lol hopefully they are better than the regular hand rims, i have limited hand function and grip which made it difficult to move around. i guess i will just have to see when they get here. hopefully they work.

I love my natural fits. Having used the chair for 18 years, it is a big difference for me. Did you also get colored spokes? Hope you enjoy the new wheels!
yeah i hope i like them. i got blue spokes w shwambe tires that have a small blue stripe. should look good with my chair that is black pearl.

I LOVE my natural fits too. It hurt my hands - even with gloves - using the regular rims that come on chairs. I felt like my knuckles and metacarpals were being strained.
Not to mention bending my fingernails back when I'd accidentally hit the brackets/screws that attached the rim to the wheel
So much happier now and I don't grab the tire anymore - which saves my palm skin - since I'm lazy about putting my gloves on
Though, I do have full function of my hands and they are somewhat small - only 6.5" from middle fingertip to wrist. Your comfort level with the rims may vary with injury level and hand size.
