Hi! The following study is currently seeking participants from across the country to take part in a multi-center study investigating the development of depression following SCI. This study is being coordinated by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with several sites across the country. This study has been approved by each individual sites ethical review board, and the website administrators have granted us permission to post this advertisement. Thank you fo looking!

Principal Investigator: Robin Hanks, Ph.D.

261 Mack Blvd., Detroit, MI 48201

Purpose: To examine factors (e.g., stress, family support, daily activities, substance use) which might influence whether or not a person with SCI becomes depressed after injury.

Requirement: (in person or from home)
Complete questionnaires & interview, with the option to give a saliva sample for the purpose of examining the link between genetic make-up and depression.

Compensation: $25 for questionnaires & interview; additional $15 if you choose to give a saliva sample.

Time: ~1 hr

You may be able to participate if you…
Are currently at least 19 years old
Were at least 18 years old when you had your injury
Were injured at least 12 months ago
