  • Spinal Injury Level / Relationship:c5 incomplete quad

I'm a new member & where better to get info then right from those who go throught it! My injury was 26 yrs ago & have had to learn to take my health care into my own hands many years ago. My injury is c5 incomplete quad & have full sensation except it takes to long to detect between hot & cold.
Since I quit smoking 11 months ago my health has gone down hill dramaticly. Worse thing is now i have pain in my Left leg kneedown & sometimes both sides of my ankel. The inside of calf feels like I'm being stabbed. Last week my left knee feels like I injured it. The pain cause spasms, worse at night which I can't sleep.
Of course spinal dr says it's nero, I tell her it doesn't make sense after all these years that it starts now. I'm taking the baclofen but hate taking drugs I've tried all sorts to manage the pain. She's been wrong plenty of times before & had to beg to get a MRI which happens in March.
Can anyone offer any info on what this might be or ho to manage it.

Hi

For years I suffered from serious spasm, taking about 200mg of Baclofen a day and that barely controlled them, smoked also.
When giving up smoking, the first few days I felt like hitting the roof but I stuck it out, the sensations you are getting now would have always been there, the smoking just clouded it.
Smoking slows the circulation, since given up, I get less spasm, as circulation increased, the legs don't fight as much when transferring and feel a lot lighter to lift.
Try picking yourself up a neurological stimulator, here is a link for you to ponder over http://www.neurotech...tensxp_home.php
Seemingly, "support" is very "serious" and you should never have a thought of your own..... My Blog
