hi, ok let me start i self cath during the day and use a condom cath at night. well fri. night my girlfriend and i went out and had a few cocktails, i had 6-8 vodka orange juice and yes we had a designated driver. that night my bladder would not drain i got all sweaty and a bad headache this has happened before after alcohol, but only for one night. on sat. i had some problems with leakage and sat. night the same thing bladder would not drain on its own. i honestly dont think its from the alcohol, but im starting to think i might have a bladder infection.

thanks for any advice,
mitch

I should think that much alcohol would have pickled anything alive in the bladder. :excl:
Look! It's a snail! It's a sloth! Able to creep short distances before lunch!

6 to 8???? Sounds like a slow night to me... I WSH I had a problem with NOT going on my own. I leak so much that I have gone to folies in order to stay dry.

It's unlikely that alcohol had anything to do with your problem. It certainly didn't cause an infection. I have found that three or four beers will actually knock out a minor infection.

cheers

Surely the sweating and headache is AD from an overfull bladder?

I also wonder if it's a "night" thing as opposed to a not cathing thing? It migh be that you bladder has changed somewhat and doesnt drain as easily these days.

Spirits do this to me too.
If I drink whiskey my bladder won't drain at all overnight, I won't pass a drop even though I know full well that I should be! So, alas, I've given the whiskey drinkin' up. :)

(I drink Gin now instead!) ;)
