In the last ten months since Brady's injury we've delt with so much emotional stuff but I can now say I think the worst is behind us. In the last two months it seems like everyday he gets a little happier and regains more of the old him. I very well know he will still have his off days but who doesn't It's just so great to have him again. Finding this site helped me in such a huge way, family and friends just don't get it no matter how much they think they do.

That's great! It just takes time....I still think that you two need to look into him getting into quad rugby......I think that he would really enjoy it as active as he was before. The website is www.quadrugby.com There you can find a team close to you guys and maybe go watch a game...I think that you would be in the Atlantic North area.....
God will never give me anything that I cannot handle.....I just wish he didn't trust me so much!

We were just talking about looking in to the quad rugby. We've just been so busy with the Holidays and both kids Birthdays which happen to be on the same day and their dirt bike habit ( it rules our lives). I know he would love to find more ways to being active.

It has helped Duke tremendously with endurance and strength. Before he started playing, he couldn't get up the ramp in his van without help, now he is strong enough to do it by himself and I don't have to worry about him not being able to get back in the van when he goes somewhere. It also helps to be around people in the same situation as him. Before Duke's accident we knew no one in a chair.....now we know about 20 really great people :(

The main benefit involves just having a reason to get up, get dressed, and get to a certain spot at a certain time. And then, through an increasing involvement and loyalty, the demands of the sport will grow. He will learn to do things he does not even suspect at this stage in order to keep up with the other guys.

It is a great idea.

I have found making him get up at a certin time and get to work has helped so much. We both work from home so him getting back to work wasn't hard. The hard part was me learning that I can't do everything for him, it finally really sunk in for me and I think me pushing him more has helped some. I make him get up, dressed and in our office by 9:30 like we have since day one and I love it so much, I love working with him by my side.
